Item#: 3183-09 ~ Civil War Union Eagle Coat Button
The Union eagle coat button was used on most Federally issued coats throughout the Civil War. The button has a Waterbury Button Co. stamped backmark. The button comes in a black riker mount case with descriptive label. Would make a great gift for any Civil War collector. The case measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ x 3/4″ deep.
CONDITION: Good condition with minor finish imperfections, to be expected for the age – nice age patina.
DIMENSIONS: The button measures 3/4″ across the face.

Sold ~ Item#: 1682-08 ~ Gettysburg Commemorative Coins dated 1963
These coins have the likeness of General Robert E. Lee and General George Meade on them. The coins have “Gettyburg Battlefield Memorial Association, Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Assocition” and “July 1-2-3 Gettysburg 1863-1963″. I believe the coins were sold to allow the Gettysburg Battlefield to purchase land for the park. The coins come in a display case with informational label.
CONDITION: Coins are in very good condition.

Sold ~ Item#: 153-07 ~ Identified 1st New York Mounted Rifles / 4th New York Cavalry Trooper and Wife cdv
A great image of a soldier and his wife. The soldier is seated wearing his uniform and his wife is wearing a beautiful dress while holding her husbands hat. On the hat you can see the crossed sabres. The image is identified in period blue ink on the reverse “Mr. & Mrs. Henry S. Chase, Hornelsfield, N.Y.”. Research on Chase shows he enlisted on 7-28-1862 as a private in Co. F, 1st New York Mounted Rifles and re-enlisted on 9-1-64. He transferred out on 9-6-65 and into the 4th Prov’l New York Cavalry. The records shows Henry made corpl. and Sergt. There is no photographers back mark on the image.
CONDITION: Condition is good, with corners slightly clipped.

Item#: 1474-05 ~ Reverend Thomas DeWitt Talmage Cabinet Card Photograph in Uniform
An impressive cabinet card photograph shows Reverend Dr. Talmage in a uniform wearing officer shoulder boards adorned with crosses. The Reverend is wearing a military style hat with the number 13 in the wreath. I believe he was a member of the 13th New York State Militia. Reverend Talmage was born in 1832 and became a Presbyterian preacher. Labeled as one of the most prominent religious leaders in the United States during the mid-to late 19th century. Also known as a reformer in New York City involved in crusades against vice and crime during the 1860′s – 1870′s. Reverend Talmage also served as a Chaplin in the Union army during the civil war. The photograph was made at the Duryea Photographers in Brooklyn, New York. This photograph dates from 1880′s – 1900.
CONDITION: Very Good condition – slight bow to image and a light age dirt. On the reverse a surface tear where an old label was located.
DIMENSIONS: The card measures 4 1/4″ wide by 6 1/2″ high.

Nice GAR calling card from Russell Post #96 GAR Dept. of Maine for J.H. Little. The card shows Mr. Little fought with Co. A of the 33rd Mass. Infantry.

Great bust view photograph of a Union sgt wearing a shoulder scales. The shoulder scales were typically discarded early in the war. The image does not have any photographer b/m on it.
CONDITION: Condition is good, the top of the card was slightly trimmed.

This is a really nice Civil War bullet display case. The bullets were recovered from the Fredericksburg, Va. Battlefield many years ago. The case comes with 2 fired Yankee three ring mini balls. Would make an excellent gift for the history lover! Sold but ask about Substitute cases.
